Welcome our 2020 Seeding Change Fellows!

Seeding Change is thrilled to welcome 23 young Asian American activists and organizers to be a part of the 7th cohort of the National Fellowship Program for Asian American Organizing and Civic Engagement.

Meet the fellows here.

The fellowship program aims to grow the next generation of organizers by developing the leadership and skills of young Asian Americans who want to organize for social change in low-income immigrant and refugee communities.

This year we are thrilled to be working with 13 host-sites in 9 cities across the country – Asian American Organizing ProjectAsian Pacific Environmental NetworkArab Resource and Organizing CenterCAAAV: Organizing Asian CommunitiesCalifornia Healthy Nail Salon CollaborativeChinese Progressive Association – BostonChinese Progressive Association – San FranciscoFilipino Advocates for JusticeFilipino Community CenterHmong Innovating PoliticsKhmer Girls in ActionVietLead, and Seeding Change.

Normally, our fellows would gathering in the Bay Area for their orientation retreat this month. However, given the current global health crisis, fellows will be convening for a weeklong virtual orientation to build with one another. They will then spend 8 to 10 weeks working remotely with their host sites from all across the country — getting to know the local community and learning how grassroots communities organize, develop leadership, and build power to win. Fellows will work on key issues impacting grassroots immigrant communities, including: housing; workers rights; youth leadership development; climate justice; and civic engagement.

We are so excited to start building with this cohort of Asian American activists and organizers looking to make change.
